Being The Space From Which Your Life Flows

AKA How to be less overwhelmed by thoughts and emotions

What can looking around the space you're in teach you about having a more calm and settled mind?

A great deal, it turns out.

All these objects that punctuate the otherwise empty space that surrounds you are very much like your thoughts and emotions. They need an environment to exist in.

Without space there can be no objects.

Without silence there can be no sound.

Without consciousness there can be no thought.

Prior to any experience being known, there first has to be a space out of which it can all arise and flow.

It is this space, so often overlooked, that holds the key to us being less overwhelmed by our experiences.

In this short video, I’ll explain the role of spaciousness in contemplative practice and why it helps us unhook from identification and attachment to thoughts and emotions.

Wishing you a wonderful week.

Be well,

Paul 🙏
